Day 5 Plying, Spindling and a Silky

An overcast morning cleared into a beautiful sunny afternoon. It was a great day for my next installment of Tour de Fleece spinning. This morning I felt like working with my drop spindle for a while.

While I was spinning my silky terrier Spencer was resting from a rousing round of chase the weasels and birds.

This afternoon’s results are from plyiing the singles from Days 2 to 4.

While I was plying in my studio the bird feeder hanging outside the window was visited by sparrows, goldfinches and a tree squirrel. None of them seemed to mind that I was spinning in the studio about 3 feet away from the window.
What a glorious day!

Fergus and Lila (No Spencer)

Dogs are way cool.  The other day my beautiful Scottie Fergus was sitting out on the back deck.  When i took out my camera he obligingly hung out and posed while I clicked away.

On the other hand, my female silky terrier Lila decided that no way no how was she going to face the camera so this is what I got:

And then there is dog #3, my male silky Spencer.  Alas, he is nowhere to be seen. Every time I take out my camera he runs and hides.  I love my dogs, each with a distinct personality and set of special quirks!

Weaving With Cats

I'm a longtime weaver who sews my own clothing. More recently, I learned how to to knit, spin my own yarn, dye, felt, bead & more. My recent claim to fame is my spiral motif rigid heddle Mermaid Scarf on the Nov/Dec 2015 cover of Handwoven magazine. I have an eight shaft floor loom, eight shaft table loom, rigid heddle loom, inkle loom, backstrap loom, a pack of cards for card weaving, and a vintage tiny rigid heddle Weave Easy Hand Loom. Occasionally I will post about other crafts I make, especially ones involving sea shells. I belong to many Facebook weaving, spinning, dyeing & knitting groups. My two kitties Pablo and Sasha are littermates. My sister rescues homeless cats in San Diego and my sweet kitties were born at just the right time for me to adopt them. They enjoy my fiber arts endeavors as much as I do.
